4 Rescued After Vessel Sinks Off Tybee Island
Four people were rescued Aug. 2, 2024, after their vessel sank 20 miles offshore Tybee Island, Georgia. The boaters deployed a life raft. A Coast Guard Air Station Savannah helicopter crew deployed a rescue swimmer to evaluate their status. A Coast Guard Station Tybee Island boat crew safely recovered the four people and transported them ashore.
