31 Rescued from Sinking Fishing Vessel Off Nova Scotia
U.S. and Canadian Coast Guard crews, along with the Royal Canadian Air Force, rescued 31 people from the Atlantic Destiny, a 143-foot Canadian commercial fishing vessel, 115 nautical miles south of Nova Scotia. The rescue happened on March 2, 2021. Members of the crews recounted the case on March 4, 2022, and it was highlighted at the 2022 State of the Coast Guard Address in Clearwater, Florida.
