2019 Collection of European Inland-barge Accidents
Most is private footage i get trough colleague Captains (my main-profesion) I will put the different cases down in seperate reactions, to keep it clear what pics belong to what video's and events. Enjoy The first case is an video of a moared ship, the security camera's. The opposing skipper fell asleep and had been awoken very suddenly when his ship impacted the stationairy ship. The second video is the leak in the Hull this had created with the moared ship, seen in the upper picture with the front partly sunken |

Re: 2019 Collection of European Inland-barge Accidents
The empty ship missguessed the speed of the loaded ship in front of them and run fullspeed astern. Being quite a bang when colliding, inside it also became a huge mess.

Re: 2019 Collection of European Inland-barge Accidents
Falling asleep in such a wide strech of water happens easily... Sadly for the skipper they have build a Dam in the sixties so it was a sudden stop.. |

And sometimes the small workpontoons act like a crumple zone for the big mamut freighters that had a little engine mallfunction |

Re: 2019 Collection of European Inland-barge Accidents
Belgium, The "Albert Canal" between Antwerp and the river Maas. This empty tanker run into a well lid work pontoon , ignoring all warnings. Probably watching TV and one eye on the Radar (an object underneath a bridge you DONT see The bridge is a big blob on a Radar screen, but with only a casual look outside the Windows could have prevented this collision |
