2 Rescued, Boat Fire Extinguished Near Whale Harbor Channel
On Oct. 13, 2021, a good Samaritan rescued two people from a vessel fire in the vicinity of Whale Harbor Channel, Islamorada. A Coast Guard Station Islamorada rescue crew arrived on scene. Crew members secured a line to the burning boat to keep it from drifting toward mangroves and other vessels nearby, and used a dewatering hose pump to extinguish the fire.  ·  ·  ·
