Lonely Ones, then, are the only Who can know, so unheeded, they die, Taking secrets of solitude over To a place where at last they'll be heard By the only one Lonely Forever Who will listen to their every word. Triolet: Shibboleth The essence of breath expelled in death Is visible to those abiding The portal's password, Shibboleth, The essence of breath expelled in death. From spawn of Cain to son of Seth, Involuntary mist confiding, The essence of breath expelled in death Is visible to those abiding. The Fan We sleep with the fan on. The sound of something is comfort in the nothing. We make love with the fan on. Its rhythmic drone drowns out our creaks and moans. We live with the fan on. Our constant companion is always set to •record. We love our fan. The dusty song of countless memories plays back to us every night. Today I unplugged the fan, cleaned it, and put it in a closet next to her things.  ·

Truly beautiful reads, I adore poetry, I write when something significant happens in my world...Thank you so much for sharing. My favorite was also The Mystery of Loneliness, and the last one made me sad.
