I used to listen to Rush, especially Farewell to Kings, on my Walkman as a teenager. It's the perfect "escape" music, as far as I'm concerned.

And yeah, 2112 fucking rocks. A perfect album.

I had the opportunity to listen to that record (and moving pictures) in a dark environment with 360 sound and it was really an amazing experience, especially Cygnus X-1.

No doubt Limousine by Brand New. The Devil & God Are Raging Inside Me is one of my favourite albums of all-time, and in my opinion it's a masterpiece. But this fucking song ... The backstory (about a Katie Flynn, a girl killed in a limousine crash by a drunk driver and her head was decapitated; she was only seven) just makes me cry. The acoustic version is so haunting.

Another song from the same album is "Jesus Christ". That song is about a suicidal man who doesn't know whether he believes in Christianity/Catholicism, and he's not sure whether he'll go to Heaven or not. I relate to it quite heavily, as I was once religious (Catholic), and I get suicidal oftentimes. It's a beautiful yet sorrowful song. I'll link it, too.

Re: Serious Thread - That Song That Marked Your Life and Why

I was 13 years old when I first heard "All The Worlds a Stage" and I thought it was 2 drummers playing the drum solo...lol That was 1976 and I was a Rush fan ever since. that same year, I saw them at the Coliseum in Houston Texas and it was mind blowing. I play drums and eventually learned many of there songs. Here is one of my drum videos on YouTube playing "Free Will".

Rock on!
