Don't know if you were aware of it or not, but this book began as fan fiction on a Twilight fan page. The names were changed from Edward and Bella, but there are still archives of the original version out there somewhere. It's not a wonder the book appealed to shallow women everywhere.

The best version of this book was the one on the local radio, where the DJ had his elderly Mexican mom (who spoke only broken English) read sections. It was absolutely hilarious. (Just like the book, except for different reasons) Just as bad in stilted Spanglish, but a lot funnier!
