X-Press Pearl Fire Off Colombo Injures Two
The container vessel X-Press Pearl caught fire off the coast of Colombo on May 20. Two people were injured. The blaze was previously brought under control but flared up again. Preliminary investigations indicated that a chemical reaction involving hazardous cargo started the fire.
