Tesla Model 3 Burns After Moscow Ring Road Crash
On August 12, 2019, a Tesla Model 3 struck a stationary tow truck on Moscow's MKAD ring road after the driver failed to notice it. The car was traveling at about 100 km/h, the posted speed limit, and hit the tow truck on its left side near a safety fence. The Tesla caught fire after the collision, producing thick black smoke. Two small explosions occurred seconds apart, and the vehicle was reduced to its metal frame.
