Styrene Leak at LG Polymers Kills Eight in Visakhapatnam
A styrene gas leak at the LG Polymers chemical plant in Visakhapatnam, India, killed eight people, including a child, and left more than 5,000 people sick. The leak affected residents within a 3 km radius. People were found unconscious on roads, while others reported breathing difficulties, skin rashes, and sore eyes. Nearly 200 people were admitted to hospital. The plant produces polystyrene and expandable polystyrene.  ·
