Russian Trawler Capsizes After Fire in Tromso Harbor
The Russian trawler Bukhta Naezdnik caught fire while docked in Tromso, Norway, on the evening of September 25, 2019. The fire continued into September 26. Firefighters were unable to extinguish the blaze and evacuated people because of concern that an ammonia tank could explode. The vessel was then flooded to cool it and prevent the fire from spreading. The trawler capsized at the quay but did not fully sink.
