Robinson R44 Engine Failure Near Albany, Texas
On January 9, 2021, a Robinson R44 II helicopter was substantially damaged near Albany, Texas, after losing engine power during a hog hunting flight. It was the third flight of the day. At about 120 feet above ground, the engine briefly sputtered and then lost all power. The pilot performed an autorotation to a field. The pilot and two passengers were not injured.
