Passenger Ferry Collides with Dock Crane Causing It to Fall and Explode
A passenger ferry in Barcelona, Spain collided with a shipping crane, causing it to tip over and explode. The footage, taken by a Bulgarian seaman, shows port staff running away from the crane as it starts to fall. The weather was poor at the time and the owner of the ferry, Grandi Navi Veloci, confirmed strong winds are what caused the vessel to stray off course. The ferry was carrying 420 passengers at the time of the incident, but amazingly, no one onboard was injured. The fire is believed to have been caused by hazardous chemicals being stored in containers on the port. |

That's what happens when you bring a crane to a ship fight. It it had been a trireme the cruise ship had run into, it might have been a much worse day for the ship, what with darts, missiles, and boarders!  |
