Microburst Collapses Two Cranes at JaxPort
A sudden microburst moved a 950-ton gantry crane at JaxPort. After static friction was overcome, the wind accelerated the crane to about 20 mph before it struck a second crane and both collapsed. The impact also hit a third and fourth crane, which required inspection before returning to service.  ·
