Massive building under construction collapses in Panama

Almost looks like a construction zone, with collapsing concrete forms, especially since there doesn't seem to be water behind it. Also, scaffolding, a generator, etc, etc. Wish there was a picture of the surrounding area....

Panama – Bystanders watched in horror Friday as a multistory building under construction in Costa Del Este, Panama, came crashing down.

The collapse carved out a massive, gaping section of the structure, sending workers running.

“Oh my God, heavenly Father!” the man filming says as the wreckage slides into the water below.

No one has been reported missing or injured after the collapse.

The building under construction is the Matisse, according to Telemetro, a planned luxury apartment skyscraper that was slated to open in 2017.

The area has recently been dealing with extensive flooding from heavy rain, but the cause of the collapse was not immediately clear.

HOLY CRAP! That is FAR more massive than it looked in the first picture. I thought it might be 10-12 feet high from the first video, instead it looks like it is at least 7 STORIES HIGH or more. That must have made some noise.
Also surprised there weren't about 200 wretched and poorly protected construction workers trying to drive little nails into the wood to hold it, and then going down with the collapse.
"But Senor! At least ONE of us had a hard-hat! He got it from the widow of the last guy who had one!"

A few planks of wood and some superficial scaffolding to hold up hundreds of tonnes of poorly drained sediment... I'm assuming that they weren't planning on it raining...

I think the local engineering school might need to update their syllabus
