Re: Man Records Tornado That Kills Wife

I'll take a hurricane over a tornado any day. Hurricanes have strong winds, but usually do not exceed 130mph. They just have a long duration (several hours), and if you're near the coast, you will have a lot of water come ashore. Plus, you get a lot of warning with a hurricane, at least 24 hours to leave if you choose to do so.

But a tornado like this one, EF4, can be up to 200 mph and they are much, much more violent in a small space. As for warning? Very possibly none at all. If any, a few minutes at the most.
Andrew? Charley? Katrina? I'm not being a dick, I'm just making a point. I went through the first two, as well as MANY more (natural Floridian, yay) and they all were well over 130 MPH. I actually endured a tornado during Hurricane Charley..... That was a bitch and I also had my son with me who was 4 at the time. The same band on the backside of the eye destroyed my parent's home in which I grew up. A close family friend died as a result of the 4-storm streak that summer (2004). All's I'm saying is hurricanes are a bitch. You may have forewarning, but they last an inordinate amount of time and are never as predictable as you may think. Charley was supposed to hit above Tampa but ran right up Peace River and destroyed Hardee County where I live.

Holy fucking hell on earth. My daughter and son in law live in Oklahoma City near Tinker AFB. Luckily, they have a shelter underground in the backyard. Still scares the shit out of me when they are in the line of fire.

Re: Man Records Tornado That Kills Wife

We live in Dixie Alley and they are getting way worse as each year goes by. Last Christmas, we woke up to 80 degrees, then a cold front moved in and it brought a few tornadoes with it, then we got snow. All in the same day. In APRIL 2014, A HUGE WEDGE destroyed half of Tupelo then came to my home area, the destruction was horrific.

Re: Man Records Tornado That Kills Wife

His wife must've been terrified to be downstairs while he was messing with that camera. He should've duct taped it down and went to her.
