Man Records Tornado That Kills Wife
(This is my first thread so sorry if I screwed up anything! Let me know.)

One of my favorite tornado videos; camera man had to have nerves of steel to film for as long as he did. Event took place in Fairdale, IL during early April 2015 and destruction was absolute. Here's the accompanying story behind the film -

The video was taken by Clem Schultz as the storm approached. Shultz lost his home as well as his wife on nearly 25 years that night.

Schultz has lived in Genoa, Ill., since this past summer. He wanted to be closer to his kids. Clem says he has a very good reason to get this video out there -- he wants it to save lives.

Schultz took the video from the top floor of his house. He says he was convinced the storm would miss his home. His wife Geri was downstairs in the kitchen when tornado approached. He wanted to get some lanterns for them, figuring the power would go out.

When the EF4 tornado hit with winds close to 200 miles an hour, the chimney came down on him, crushing his hand and a vertebrae. His wife Geri did not survive. Their neighbor and friend, Jackie Klosa, also died that night.

A tornado spotter helped Schultz to safety when it was all over. The phone he took the video on was discovered by his family a few days after the tornado in the rubble of his home. Today he is doing much better, after doctors fixed his spine.

I really admire the Americans that go through this crazy shit and still rebuild their communities, here in Aus we get wild storms but nothing like those big-ass tornados/hurricanes!
