Brazil, A young man disappeared in the water on Sunday afternoon (1) after helping a family in a boat who tried to cross a flooded dirt road after the boat overturned making the family fall into the water. He tried to take people out of the water but disappeared into the water himself.

Fire Department divers were trying to find the young man, who is 24 years old. The searches were suspended earlier this Sunday. The town's Mayor reported that the heavy rain that fell in the city between Saturday night (31) and dawn on Sunday (1), broke the dam used by the citizens and left the residents cut off.

"It was a family of five who tried to cross the raging stream and the boat turned. They were drowning and a young man who was on the spot tried to help these people, but disappeared in the waters," the mayor said.

He also said that a team had been in the area in the morning to alert residents of the dangers of trying to cross the stream at that time. "Someone got a boat and the people were crossing, even with the warning and prohibition of firefighters.

The vessel used by the family belongs to the Department of Agriculture, but at the time of the accident the vessel was boarded by the residents and not municipal officials.
