At Least 66 Dead in Turkey Ski Resort Hotel Fire
A fire at a 12-story hotel at a popular ski resort in northwestern Turkey on Tuesday killed at least 66 people, Turkey’s Interior Minister said. Ali Yerlikaya said at least 51 other people were injured in the disaster that struck the Grand Kartal hotel in the resort of Kartalkaya, in Bolu province’s Koroglu mountains, some 300 kilometers (185 miles) east of Istanbul. The fire occurred during the schools’ semester break, when hotels in the region are packed. “We are in deep pain. We have unfortunately lost 66 lives in the fire that broke out at this hotel,” Yerlikaya told reporters after inspecting the site. At least two of the victims died after jumping from the building in a panic. One of the hotel entertainment places was called Flame Mountain Club The video is from Turkish souses and with Turkish audio. I shows some of the guests jumping out of their rooms as well as the the progress of the fire. |

Reminder: When checking into a 10-story Turkish hotel that looks like a barn, be sure to bring along your rappelling gear. |

Sad, Sad, Sad. Can't watch this one as most of the victims would have been kids on semester break like the description states. What a tragedy. Many will be haunted by this for the rest of their lives, poor bastards. |
