Hurricane Sally Crane Barge Damages New Pensacola Bridge Span
On September 16, 2020, Hurricane Sally drove construction barges left near a new Pensacola bridge into the structure. A crane toppled and damaged a span that had been completed that summer. Multiple barges carrying construction equipment were involved, with at least one ending up beneath the bridge and another carried into a yard. No one was on the bridge at the time, and no deaths were reported.  ·
