Huge Explosion in Gas Storage Facility, Shymkent
A blast occurred in a gas storage facility in Shymkent on June 7 severely injuring 1 worker, Kazakh media report citing eyewitnesses. An employee of the facility received burns of 98 percent of the body surface, he was hospitalized in critical condition. A fire broke out at the gas storage near the gas station: two tanks with a capacity of 200 cubic meters caught fire and one of them exploded. Fire fighters were able to prevent the explosion of the second tank. Four tankers of various capacity, which were close to the place of emergency, also exploded. |
