Georgia C-130 Crash Kills Five After Engine Failure
A C-130 military transport aircraft crashed in Georgia in 2018, killing all five people aboard. The investigation found that a left-side engine was fluctuating between about 4,000 and 300 horsepower during takeoff. The takeoff was not aborted, and required engine-failure, engine-shutdown, and after-takeoff procedures were not followed. The aircraft was not flown in a manner consistent with an engine failure, leading to a stall of the left wing. It was too low to recover control.
