Venezuela says natural gas plant explosion was ‘terrorist attack’ targeting sanctioned state-run energy company A strong explosion shook yesterday a gas pipeline located in the state of Monagas, in northeastern Venezuela, owned by the state-owned oil company PDVSA. Venezuelan Oil Minister Tareck el Aissami, in addition to confirming the incident, considered what happened as part of "a new terrorist attack" against the pulse of the oil industry, the state-owned firm Petróleos de Venezuela SA (PDVSA).
