CV-22 Osprey Destroys Addenbrooke's Hospital Helipad
A USAF CV-22 Osprey destroyed the helipad at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, England, during takeoff on April 21, 2021. The crew had been carrying out medical transfer training. The non-permanent landing surface was thrown into the air during the aircraft's departure. The helipad had been used regularly by smaller air ambulances, including AW169 and EC135 helicopters. East Anglian and Magpas air ambulances were diverted to Cambridge City Airport while repairs took place.
