Complete Failure of a 396 Diesel Engine
This video was shown during an engine rebuilding class. The information mentions that it spun a bearing, causing a piston to try and seize, in turn throwing a rod.

I used to rebuild engines for a living, and this type of failure is actually pretty common across the whole spectrum of car engines. It's called "windowing the block" when it happens.
