Chemical Storage Fire and Explosions in Pudahuel
A mining company storage facility in Pudahuel, Chile, caught fire on March 2, 2020, triggering multiple explosions. The facility was storing chemicals without permits, according to the municipality. The fire spread to six neighboring wineries. Four people died, including two at the wineries. Prosecutors opened a quasi-homicide investigation into the winery fire.
