Burning Wind Turbine Sparks Klickitat County Brush Fire
A burning wind turbine in Klickitat County, south of Yakima, shed melted sections onto grass and brush, starting the Juniper Fire. Gusty winds spread the fire across steep canyon terrain. It burned more than 500 acres, and three nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution. No damage or injuries were reported. About two dozen fire units responded. The fire was later mostly contained and downgraded.  ·
