Brumadinho Iron Ore Dam Collapse Killed 259 in 2019
On January 25, 2019, a dam at Vale's iron ore mining complex in Brumadinho, Brazil, collapsed and released a surge of mud. The flow buried buildings beside the dam and parts of Brumadinho. At least 259 people were killed, and 11 remained missing.
