Re: Bridge Bow Falls During Construction

in the video they said that the bow "swinged" or "rotated", as the translation of the verb used can be translated both ways, but rotated the most obvious

As I see it now there were cross winds of 50-75 km/h at least, which made the bow swing. But there were only 2 cranes (contact points) which means that the bow could move (horizontally rotate) anytime in one plane/surface area.
The left crane cable snapped (due to being too light for the job), so the bow rotated vertically and the other end slammed the scaffold away.
Negative points for placing the welding workers on the scaffold before the end of the lifting.
So it is clear that the dutchmen recently forgot about the power of the (cross)winds, even after centuries of seafaring and sewing their own sails.
Crosswinds add an acceleration, not a velocity.

You summarized that rather well.

I imagine the current generation of Dutchmen are no different than anywhere else, where generations of practical skills and knowledge have displaced by social media and the need to play e-games.
