Alexander L. Kielland Capsizing Killed 123 in Ekofisk Field
On March 27, 1980, the Norwegian accommodation platform Alexander L. Kielland capsized in the Ekofisk oil field. The platform housed workers and was connected to a drilling platform. There were 212 workers aboard. A total of 123 were killed, and 30 of the victims were never found.  ·
