Video footage has caught the shocking moment a crane crashed down during a storm killing two.

The incident took place at around 4pm on March 1 in Funing County, China's Jiangsu province.

At the time of the crash, the region was hit by a heavy storm with guts of wind recorded to be around 26 metres a second.

According to reports, the crane was being used to construct a new hotel in the area.

In the footage, the crane can be seen wobbling in the wind as parts of the building next to it start to fall off.

Suddenly the crane starts to collapse, crashing into the building before eventually hitting the ground.

Smoke can be seen rising a few metres above the ground following the crash.

Two people were killed in the accident and 22 people were injured.

According to Funing County Meteorological Bureau, the wind at the time had reached some 26 metres a second

However a more local bureau said that gusts at the time of the incident reached some 30 metres a second.

For those still on Imperial metrics, 26 meters-per-second is roughly 58 miles-per-hour. And at the stated peak, those winds were 67mph.
