D.B. Cooper Mystery

D.B. Cooper jumped from a Boeing 727 while it was In-flight. He was prepared, with a parachute and a plan.

The FBI has been working this case for over 40 years now, maybe closer to 50.

"The FBI obtained a partial DNA sample from the black JCPenney clip-on tie Cooper left on the plane before jumping off its tail end. The FBI extracted the sample in 2001, but it did not match up with any suspects."

I'd LOVE to get into any publically available parts of this casefile and see if it leads anywhere!

Re: D.B. Cooper Mystery

Here are pictures of the police sketch and some bills found by an 8 year old boy by the Columbia river. The bills had serial numbers that matched the bills D.B. Cooper had.

The FBI says that it's unlikely he could have survived the jump without the right equipment to survive the wilderness.

Also, a woman believes that her father, who disappeared, was D.B. Cooper. There are similarities but I'm doubtful. She said that her and her family were watching television when the police sketch came on, and they all recognized it as her father. I don't know why they didn't report it, then? Would have been helpful considering police did end up getting a DNA sample.

It's the telegraph, though

Actually, the "mystery" died the moment he died ... shortly after having landed.
