Six women have disappeared from the Chillicothe, Ohio area. Four of them have been found dead.

As talk in a small central Ohio city, population 23,000, turns to the possibility of a serial killer or killers, the FBI has joined the case, trying to figure out who or what is happening to these women.

"I don’t want to come out and say 'yes, we have a serial killer,' but it's a small community that we live in ... and the number of females who have come up missing, and then the bodies that we've found, that's quite a bit for our community," Ross County Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Preston told The Washington Post.

Some were sex workers, most had problems with drug abuse and at least three were addicted to heroin, according to ABC News.

"They all ran in the same circle -- the drug scene and things like that," Chillicothe Police Sgt. Ron Meyers told the Huffington Post. "In my 23-year career, I have handled 30 to 40 cases of missing people and generally those cases are quickly solved. These cases, where people have been gone this long, are odd."

"I don't think this is a coincidence that they all knew each other," Claytor's ex-boyfriend, Jamil Burgin, told the Huffington Post.

Here is a list of the six missing women, starting with the first, who disappeared in May 2014.

Name: Charlotte Trego, 27
Missing Since: May 3, 2014
Status: Still missing

Her mother reported Charlotte Trego missing to police after not having seen her for two weeks, police said. She said her daughter was addicted to heroin. Trego has a Playboy bunny tattooed on her right arm along with the name "Chloe."

The name "James" is tattooed above her right breast, according to a missing persons ad posted on a Facebook page dedicated to finding her.

Name: Tameka Lynch, 30
Missing Since: May 2014
Status: Dead

A few days after Trego disappeared, Tameka Lynch went missing, Chillicothe police said. A year later, on May 24, 2015, four kayakers discovered a woman's body, later identified as Lynch, lying on a sandbar in Paint Creek.

According to the Ross County Sheriff's Office. Her death was ruled a drug overdose, police told WSYX.

Name: Wanda Lemons, 37
Missing Since: November 4, 2014
Status: Still missing

Her mother had not heard from Wanda Lemons for two months when she decided it was time to report her as missing, police said. It was common not to hear from the mother of five for long periods, but when she didn't call on important holidays, her mother thought something was awry.

A friend said he saw Lemons on November 3, 2014, according to a Facebook page dedicated to finding her. He heard she was leaving for Texas with a truck driver. Lemons has made contact with her adult daughter via text message and posted to Facebook on November 5.

Name: Shasta Himelrick, 20
Missing Since: December 26, 2014
Status: Dead

Shasta Himelrick was expecting a baby when she went missing the day after Christmas last year. A text message in the early hours was one of her last signs of life, and shortly afterward, a surveillance camera captured her on video, according to police. Later, Himelrick's car was found abandoned.

"She took Christmas Day to tell everybody she was pregnant," her cousin Christopher Wallingford told CNN affiliate WBNS. "She was so happy, and I just want everybody to know she was a good woman."

On January 2, she was found dead in the Scioto River, according to police.

The Ross County coroner found cocaine and oxycodone -- a narcotic painkiller -- in her system and ruled her death suicide by drowning.

Name: Tiffany Sayre, 26
Missing Since: May 11, 2015
Status: Dead

Tiffany Sayre's body was found on June 20, wrapped in a sheet alongside a creek bed not far from where Lynch's body had been found four weeks earlier.

Sayre was a mother of two, and she also reportedly struggled with drug addiction.

The night she was last heard from, a friend said, Sayre was visiting men at a hotel room, according to a Facebook page dedicated to finding her. Another friend reportedly told police that Sayre had visited the apartment of her late boyfriend, which had been broken into.

Name: Timberly Claytor, 38
Found Dead: May 29, 2015

Timberly Claytor, a mother of five, was killed in Massieville, just outside Chillicothe. Her body was found lying in the weeds on Massieville Road; preliminary autopsy results show she'd suffered three gunshot wounds to the head, according to the Ross County Sheriff's Office.

An old friend, Marcia Pummel, said Claytor confided to her that she was addicted to heroin. Pummel felt the need to pass that on. "I think more people need to talk about it," she said. "There's a stigma. Nobody will talk about it." Pummel said she lost her nephew to a heroin overdose last year.
Known Suspects/Persons of Interest:
  • Jason A. McCrary, 37, is considered the lead suspect in Claytor's death, the sheriff's office said; he was jailed on an unrelated charge of failing to register his change of address as a sex offender.

  • Ernest "Dollar Bill" Moore, 36, turned himself in to police Thursday night, after the Missing Women's Task Force issued a nationwide warrant for his arrest, police said. Moore is facing felony assault and kidnapping charges in the July assault of a Chillicothe man. The victim, the newspaper reported, told police he was "punched, kicked, assaulted with a broom, possibly raped with the broom, burned with lighter fluid, silverware heated from the stove and boiling water."

  • Neal Falls, 45, a suspected serial killer shot to death July 18 in WV.

Freaky as hell. Women on the drug/prostitution scene in a single community who all knew each other disappearing within a year, whose bodies were mostly found in rivers or on their banks...

It's possible Timberly Claytor's death is unrelated, since she was shot and dumped by the road.

Re: Could These Missing or Murdered Ohio Women Be Connected?

Drugs aren't a serial killer. Timberly could have been shot due to her drug use, maybe she owed a lot of money? The people involved in selling aren't good guys.

Definitely think the two found on the sandbars and possibly the pregnant girl are related. IMO.
Excellent post

Re: Could These Missing or Murdered Ohio Women Be Connected?

family members told ABC News that a few of the women had drugs and prostitution in their past, possibly linking them.

The first woman, Charlotte Trego, went missing in May of 2014 and hasn’t been seen since. Tameka Lynch went missing the same day as Trego, but her body was found 3 weeks later.

Wanda Lemons then went missing in late 2014 and has not been heard from since.

Shasta Himelrick disappeared on Christmas 2014 and her body was found in a river on Jan. 2.

Tiffany Sayre went missing on May 11 of this year and her body was most recently found on June 20.

Re: Could These Missing or Murdered Ohio Women Be Connected?

It seems to me their deaths and disappearances are related somehow. As stated, they all ran in same circles. All from same area. Can't say anything about the suspects, just not enough there. Definitely something sinister happening in Chillicothe, Ohio. Very interesting, Thank you.

Re: Could These Missing or Murdered Ohio Women Be Connected?

They found the killer of the last woman, and he has died. Unfortunately, they were not able to tie him to the rest.
