Appalachian Trail Murders
Chris & Amy do a great job. Their channel True Crime Recaps is a good. The vid listed touches on one of the instances of things gone bad on the “AT”. There are also other, longer docu’s about the Trail.. some well done. |

Re: Appalachian Trail Murders
Blue state for you: PA changed death sentence for cold blooded rapist/murder to life sentence. |

Re: Appalachian Trail Murders
No, Blue states ≠ fail. The death penalty implies that the state is infallible, which it is CLEARLY not. It's like any other human endeavour: imperfect. Up until the 1980's, there was no such thing as DNA evidence, and when that evidence became mainstream it exonerated a LOT of innocent men. If those men had been executed, there would be no way of bringing them back. The juries or judges that convicted them were 100% sure that they had the right verdict, but they were wrong. We can only imagine how many innocent men were wrongly executed before the 1980s. For that reason alone, the death penalty should be taken off the table. We like to think of ourselves as a civilization, not savages. We need to own up to that. |

Re: Appalachian Trail Murders
Glad you are a warrior for the COUNTLESS innocent Men that seem to get themselves in these criminal fixes, investigations and cases. Seems like all Men in prison say, “i didnt do it!” (Shawshank ref there) :-) Opinions vary on it all. In my opinion, Blue states, cities, etc have MUCH fail, in many ways. Not just crime, prison, etc. You are a libby, so u will defend them. Thats fine, again, opins vary. I agree about DNA.. it has saved some innocents. Like cop bodycams.. yall Lefties cried for them, now those cams EXONERATE cops wayyy more than cop-haters wish. Anyway, u have a great day, kind sir. (i usually ignore you, as you think you know more than you actually do, about.. most anything. and trying to educate you is a headache as you can rarely be reasoned with... Like most libs. But ill keep u Off my Ignore List.. for now. If you become an arguing fool, the IgnoreAxe will come down, and i wont even be able see any of your ranting replies, like you do many other members) Take care! |

Re: Appalachian Trail Murders
I remember a story from years ago where two lesbians were hiking on the Appalachian trail when they came across a mountain-man who asked if they were lost. They said no. He stalked and followed them, remaining hidden. The couple stopped to have sex and he shot them both with his rifle killing one and gravely injuring the other who managed to hike 5 miles to safety.

Re: Appalachian Trail Murders
Yep. I remember seeing the survivor telling her story on Sally Jessy Raphael (or one of those shows) a few months after it happened. It was pretty gripping. She bore a slight resemblance to my sister so it had extra impact for me. There was a low budget movie based on it a few years ago but it was terrible and I couldn't get through more than a few minutes.
