Typhoon Maysak Makes Landfall in Hainan
Typhoon Maysak made landfall along the coast of Lingshui Li Autonomous County in Hainan Province on July 3, according to the China Meteorological Administration. Maximum sustained winds near the center were around force 9 at landfall. The system is officially recorded as the first tropical cyclone to make landfall in China in 2026.
