Thunderstorm Hits Quake-stricken Shelters in Mandalay
On the night of April 5, 2025, a violent thunderstorm hit Mandalay, Myanmar, one week after a devastating magnitude 7.7 earthquake. Heavy rain and strong winds moved through already damaged neighborhoods, striking shelters for earthquake survivors and blowing away tents. Thousands of survivors were forced to endure another night of hardship in the storm.
