seaside carpenter here, can confirm the roof seemed quite inadequately secured, nowadays and for years before even when houses were built with studs every 2 feet now its every sixteen inches you had to place metal strapping from the roof to the framing of the house, so that when a gust of wind gets up under the eve like that it has to basically pull on the whole damn house which is alsways bolted down to its either concrete or wooden pyling foundations, that roof came off way to easy
