Re: Texan Tornado Picks Up ATV

Been living in Texas for 60 years. Finally built a below ground shelter 3 years ago. The next year we had a tornado touch down 100 ft from our house and fortunately jumped over us with minimal damage. Neighbors barn was completely destroyed along with a bull that was impaled with a 4"X 4" X 8' foot post. Awesome force!

** As I always say:
~ Don't build a house of stones in an earthquake prone zone, you might get crushed.
~ Don't build a house of mud in a flood prone zone, you might suffocate & drown.
~ Don't build a house of sticks in a tornado prone zone, you might get blown away sky high.
~ Don't build a house of straw in a fire prone zone, you might get burned.

Old japanese castles actually endure earthquakes, because the way their stone palisades are made are specifically carved to support the integrity of the entire wall in case of earthquakes. There was some specific method and shape the stones were carved in so the stones support each other.

But then stands to reason Japan knows how to build and rebuild against all disasters, given how their unfortunate geographical location that forces them to experience all of them.

Re: Texan Tornado Picks Up ATV

I recall years ago seeing a photo of a young women who had been killed in a tornado. She had obviously been sucked out of her home or something. She was found dead in a nearby field, twisted and wrapped in barbed wire. I've tried to find that photo ever since with no luck. In fact, I haven't been able to find any photos of dead people in situ from tornadoes. It's like some kind of taboo subject for the media that they won't publish it.

Re: Texan Tornado Picks Up ATV

It wouldn't happen to be these pics would it? I don't see any barbed wire though, if you ever find that other one please show me. Only actual graphic pics I've found of a tornado victim and it came off of this website and I've searched deep all over the web.

Yeah that was insane. I swear it paused for a few seconds so it could finish ripping out those trees that go flying!
