Super Typhoon Pepito, internationally named Man-Yi, intensified as it approached the Bicol Region in the Philippines, with tsunami-like storm surges reported in the source title. As of 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 16, Pepito was about 185 kilometers east of Catarman, Northern Samar. Coastal communities were bracing for its full onslaught, with maximum sustained winds of 185 kilometers per hour and gusts up to 230 kilometers per hour.
