Re: Slow Tornado
This isn't a tornado. It's what is known as a dust devil or whirlwind. They are totally harmless, and cause little if any real destruction. They normally occur on days where there's plenty of sunshine and low humidity. Central winds are usually less than 35 mph. They are quite common in arid regions of the world. Tornadoes occur only in thunderstorms. Their dynamic is completely different from that of a dust devil. They are quite destructive, with vortex winds ranging from 70 to 350 mph. They are usually visible as a result of the "condensation" cloud that defines their unique funnel shape. Quite a difference, I should say. |

Re: Slow Tornado
Of course everyone knows that love is not a rose. And most people know there is no such thing in modern terminology as a slow tornado. So by obviously it's not a normal tornado but in a sense it is as it has almost all things in common with a much larger more powerful tornado and FASTER tornado. That's why we use the modifier of SLOW to show a distinction. So the title is very much correct discription even though academically it falls short of being exact. And furthermore it's not my title at all. I left it as is to allow curious people to trace it back to it's source. A CBS journalist lifted the article from a blog. I don't even think I could of come up with such a catchy title but I have been known to post a few from time to time. Like Kung Fu Kitty Strikes a Cobra Pose. (get it? Strike a Pose? Kung Fu Fighting? Allusions to two songs in one title that most won't even notice except in a subconscience way. . I like that title.
