Mid-May Rainstorm System Swamps Guangdong and Jiangxi
A powerful, persistent rainstorm system swept across southern China in mid-May 2026, developing into one of the most significant multi-day extreme rainfall events of the year. The system first hit Guangdong Province on May 15, then shifted inland toward Jiangxi Province on May 16.
