Loire Region Flooding After Dam Release
Severe flooding has caused widespread disruption across France, with powerful torrents sweeping cars away, submerging roads, and cutting off entire villages. Residents have had to use boats for transportation. The flooding followed relentless heavy rainfall that began on Thursday, October 17, 2024. A large dam release triggered river overflow in the Loire Region, and the flooding has been described as the worst in France in the past 40 years.
