At Least 12 People Died After a Massive Avalanche
At least 12 people died, six were injured, and five remain missing after a massive avalanche struck a group of 33 people on Mount Mizhirgi in Kabardino-Balkaria. The group was conducting ice training when a giant mass of snow and ice slid down the mountain. Ten people managed to descend on their own, while the six injured were hospitalized. Among the deceased are members of the russian National Guard (Rosgvardia), according to a statement from the organization itself. Search operations for the five missing people have been temporarily suspended due to deteriorating weather conditions and the risk of further avalanches. |

Those people who died were a lot closer to the slide than the camera guy. Helluva thing to get caught in.. no thanks.  |
