Jinshuai Hotel Collapse in Chihpen, Taiwan, August 8, 2009
The six-storey Jinshuai Hotel collapsed in Chihpen, Taitung County, Taiwan, on August 8, 2009, after typhoon floodwaters undermined its foundations. The hotel, in the Chihpen hot spring resort area, fell into the water. Staff and guests had been evacuated before the collapse. A replacement hotel was built on the site in 2014.
