Gas Station Awning Torn Apart in Hurricane Florence
A video from Wilmington, North Carolina, showed the eyewall of Hurricane Florence tearing apart a gas station awning. The storm came on shore just east of town, then made a very slow crawl west and then south, keeping Wilmington in the worst winds for several hours. Gusts over 100 mph were frequent, especially between larger buildings, where the winds were compressed and funneled through.
