Latest death toll in Ecuador as of 23 Apr is 650. It will surely rise as the rubble is removed and inaccessible areas are reached. As you'll see, roads and bridges in some areas are impassable and helicopters in Ecuador are few.

The US Army has aviation (helicopter) assets in Honduras. Perhaps they are readying to move forward via cargo planes to assist.
