I've heard once in a documentary the hurricane experts say its because they can better differ them from each other. If they talk about a certain happening, they just mention the name of the hurricane and they know when it was, what happened etc. For documentation reasons? And maybe because theres places where there are so many hurricanes. (said someone who's from a country that have only had one single non-named hurricane in that country's whole history |
