Bus Driver Saves Family from Being Washed Away by Floods

The driver, her child, and her mother-in-law were all inside the white car when it suddenly began skidding uncontrollably on a road that was inundated with a muddy deluge.

Reports said the incident from Yulin City in north-western China's Shaanxi Province began after water levels in the local Yixi River - which runs through the city - began rising and eventually flooded nearby streets.

As the floodwater rushed into the urban area following heavy rainfall, many residents were caught off guard as their homes and vehicles fell victim to the elements.

The family of three inside the car were trying to drive through the floodwater - and believed they would be safe in their vehicle - when the car was suddenly caught up in the currents and washed away.

According to reports, and from what is visible from the now viral video, the skidding car crashed right into the bus full of passenger approaching in the opposite lane, which effectively stopped them three from being taken further away.

But the three passengers were still stuck inside the vehicle and were fortunately rescued by bus driver Zhang Hong and his passengers, who pulled the trio out of the car and carried them to safety.

This was one of the worst flood seasons in decades and flash floods are still rocking parts of the country.
