Bone River Washes Away Molintogupo Bridge in Indonesia
On June 11, 2020, flooding on Indonesia's Bone River washed away the temporary steel Molintogupo Bridge. The bridge had previously collapsed in 2016 after the overflowing river dragged it away. A temporary steel replacement was built, but it was also swept away before a stronger permanent bridge could be completed. Plans called for the replacement bridge to be moved several hundred meters downstream from the river bend at the original site.
