Blizzard Hits Hudson Yards and 34th Street

New York City saw its first blizzard in 9 years, with intense conditions around Hudson Yards, 10th Avenue, and 34th Street in Manhattan.

Powerful winds and whiteout conditions made travel extremely difficult for vehicles and pedestrians, at times nearly impossible. Snow covered streets were reported around 10th Avenue and 34th Street, with commuters and pedestrians battling blizzard conditions near Hudson Yards at 34th Street and 11th Avenue.

FDNY also responded to a manhole fire on 10th Avenue, where flames were shooting several feet into the air.
